ACCESS Maxi / ACCESS Medi by GEWA AB

The wireless systems are powerful infrared transmitters that communicate with computers through the ACCESS keyboard/Mouse Interface that is supplied with each keyboard. The keyboards have two levels, one for the keyboard and one for environmental control. In addition to complete computer control, the keyboards can control everything in the GEWA "Smart House" product realm. Macros can be recorded with things like names, addresses, etc., and transmitted with a single keystroke. Multi-function environmental control commands can be transmitted in the same manner.

The keyboards can be adapted to individual needs by changing settings for keyboard Delay and Repeat rate. The smaller unit, ACCESS Medi, is direct selection and scanning (12 different scanning methods), while the larger ACCESS Maxi is direct selection only. Both units have integral kayguards. The ACCESS Medi's keys are 1/2" (12.7 mm) in diameter and the ACCESS Maxi's keys are 3/4" (19 mm) in diameter.

Infrared (IR) Interface

The IR interface makes wireless data communication possible with infrared light to a PC. All keyboard and mouse codes can be transmitted. These interfaces can be connected to different ports on the computer and control different functions. The codes are generated by Access Keyboard and the Gewa Prog Module.

The USB interface can be connected to either a USB port or a keyboard port (cables are included for both alternatives).

Note: When using the USB port the operating system in the computer must have full support for USB. In Windows 98 Second Edit., 2000, XP, Vista, or Win-7.

When the interface is connected to a USB port the following functions are simulated:
1. Ordinary mouse.
2. Mouse operated from numerical keys on a keyboard.
3. Other keyboard operations.

When the interface is connected to a keyboard port the following functions are simulated:
1. Mouse operated from numerical keys on a keyboard.
2. Other keyboard operations.

When using a keyboard port you need the 663212 Keyboard Splitter to be able to use the standard keyboard in parallel. You do not need this splitter when using a USB keyboard.
